This is the update for the week of Feb 13, 2012. Advising motorist that major traffic pattern changes for Phase 2 are now in place. A temporary traffic signal is active at SR 356 northbound and southbound at the Main Street intersection at the North end of Laneville Bridge. Traffic is shifted on SR 356 North and South to a two-lane configuration using the Laneville Bridge and the existing SR 356 North/SR 128 ramps and then to the southbound side of the Freeport Bridge over the Allegheny River. Traffic has been shifted on SR 2019 Freeport Road to a two-way, two-lane configuration using the existing SR 356 roadway. Access to Coal Street at the northern end of the Freeport Bridge will be maintained at all times with a temporary roadway. Freeport Bridge: Work continues on the truss section, contractor has placed two new concrete sections for the new SB 356 deck, we are continuing to remove the old SB approach spans in sections, add new beams, and prepare forms for new concrete decking. Roadway: Construction of the new SR 356 and SR 2019 (Freeport Road) intersection that will be the location of new traffic signal in the final configuration. Continuing to removing old ramps to make room for new sub structure. Buffalo Creek Bridge: Beams are set, and metal forms are installed. Work has started on forming for Concrete. Embankment is being added at Abutment 2. Motorists should be aware of changing conditions and be prepared to follow the directions of the flaggers.Five full days of work are scheduled for Brayman with some possible work on Saturday. There is now a width restriction (hauling restriction) of 11 feet on SR 2019, SR 356 Northbound and Southbound beginning at the entrance to River Forest Golf Course and continues the entire length over the Allegheny River Bridge and through the project.
